The Mission of Camp Blue Diamond is to develop and promote programs which provide Christian Education, Leadership Development and Stewardship of Resources for the churches of the Middle District PA Church of the Brethren, and to develop and promote a rental facility providing environmental aesthetics and a warm Christian Spirit in which churches, schools, organizations, groups, families and individuals can retreat for spiritual, mental and physical refreshment and development.

Modern Lodges, cabins, pavilions and a 50 site RV & tent campground are available to family, church, school and not-for-profit groups for rental.

Camp Blue Diamond is 238 acres of beautiful oak, pine and hemlock woodlands within Rothrock State Forest. Wildlife abounds and a stream fed, three acre lake with a sandy beach, numerous hiking trails, basketball, four-square, disc golf and playing fields provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities.

Camp Blue Diamond is an alcohol and tobacco free zone.

Main Lodge
Pictured above the Main Lodge is equipped and winterized for year round use, the building accommodates up to 120 people for meals and meetings. Upstairs there's a large meeting room, dining hall with a large stone fireplace, recreation room and a full institutional kitchen. Downstairs there are six bedrooms with a total of 24 beds, and ample restroom and slower facilities. Larger groups can use the newly built, modern, winterized cabins (which sleep up to 100), which circle the back of the Lodge. Smaller rental groups (less than 40 people) may cook for themselves, or camp staff can provide meals. Meals are prepared by camp staff for groups of 40 or more.

Hemlock Lodge
Across from the Main Lodge is Hemlock. This small lodge is winterized and can accommodate up to 18 people in its four sleeping rooms. Each sleeping room also has a double bed, so that couples and families can be more comfortable. There are two restrooms with showers and a central meeting room with kitchenette. This building is located within 100 ft. of the Main Lodge, so larger groups of at least 40 can conveniently rent both buildings.

Ouch House
Between the Main Lodge and Hemlock is the Ouch House, which serves as the nurses cabin in the summer. It can be rented by groups using the Lodge or Hemlock during the other three seasons. The building has three bedrooms with beds for five, and a full bathroom. The Ouch House is very practical for large groups that need more sleeping accommodations or groups who want to put a leader/guest in a private building.

Camp Cabins
There are ten new winterized camp cabins, which have electricity and heat. Each cabin can sleep 10. These cabins surround the back of the lodge, and can be used year round. In addition to these cabins are eleven older cabins that are not-winterized. These cabins sleep 7, and can only be used from April - October.

All of these cabins are located in the woods, forming a large semi-circle around the Main Lodge.  Large rental groups (from 30 up to 200) are welcome to use these buildings in conjunction with the Main Lodge or Hemlock, as extra sleeping space.  A large modern shower house is centrally located among these structures.

During the warm weather months (March - November) the camp cabins may be rented separately without use of the Main Lodge or Hemlock. Since they do not have cooking facilities, groups renting only the cabins need to bring outside camp stoves or cook over the firerings.  Picnic tables are available.

During Outdoor School season, October, April and May, the camp cabins are not available for rental Monday - Friday. They are available for weekend rental groups. During Summer Camp Season, June 10 - August 18th, the camp cabins are not available for rental.

Picnic Pavilions
The Lakeside and Campground Pavilions are available for church and family reunion picnics from May - September. Each pavilion has picnic tables for 100, and the Lakeside Pavilion has a worship amphitheater nearby, ideal for Church groups. A chicken BBQ can be provided by camp staff. Swimming and canoeing are available to rental groups for a small fee. Each pavilion has a horseshoe area, and fishing is allowed.

Family Cabins: Bearview and Rising Sun
There are two cabins located at the end of the lake: Rising Sun and Bearview. Bearview has three bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen and bathroom. Bearview was recently remodeled, has beds for 9, and central heating.

Rising Sun is our newest addition at CBD. It has three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms, a loft, central heat and air, and a TV w/VCR/DVD.  It is handicapped accessible.  It can accommodate 12 people.

Both cabins' kitchens are outfitted with refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, coffeemakers, dishes and pots and pans, making them ideal for family vacations and small church groups.

Recreational Options
Rental groups using the Main Lodge, Hemlock, and the surrounding cabins have access to a basketball/volleyball court, four square diamond, and an eighteen hole (tree) disc golf course at no additional fee. Swimming, Canoeing and the Initiatives Course are available to all rental groups. Camp Blue Diamond is surrounded on all sides by a state forest, which provides many hiking, mountain biking and hunting opportunities.
