Located within Rothrock State Forest, Camp Blue Diamond is 238 acres of pristine hemlock, pine and oak forest, with a clean & clear stream fed lake located in the center of the property.  About thirty minutes from State College, Altoona and Huntingdon, Camp Blue Diamond is near the exact center of Pennsylvania, about seven miles Northeast of Petersburg.     

Modern Lodges, cabins, pavilions and a 50 site RV & tent campground are available to family, church, school and not-for-profit groups for rental throughout the year. To learn more about rentals and CBD facilities visit the Facilities Page.  

 


 During June and July, Camp Blue Diamond operates an American Camp Association accredited residential summer camp program. In August, it hosts Centre County Law Enforcement's Camp Cadet program, and in the spring and fall, Shaver's Creek Outdoor School, an environmental and experiential education program of Penn State University. 

 

 

Summer camp at Blue Diamond offers eighteen different coed, residential and specialty camps for children and youth, Pre-School to High School. Specialty camps focus on Whitewater Rafting, Caving, Creative Arts, Wilderness Living Skills and Canoeing.  

At Camp Blue Diamond campers are divided up into family units, each having a boy's and girl's cabin with one or two well-trained college age counselors. Daily activities include crafts, nature, games, swimming, canoeing and Bible study. In Bible study campers are encouraged to explore and discuss their faith, and their relationship with others, in a friendly, accepting environment. In addition to daily activities, special activities include Coffee House (Skit night), Game Night, Cook-outs, Campfires and the Initiatives Course. Camp Blue Diamond offers a non-competitive, Christian atmosphere with fun activities, trained and caring counselors, and a licensed RN and chaplain.
